Often
we hear people ask: Where do we start? How do we convince our
employees? What are the pitfalls to avoid? How fast can we do it? Can
we get a road map?
For any organization, the people need to know how to proceed before making
a change. To obtain this knowledge, the first step in the process
is often education for leadership, middle management, supervisors/team
leaders and hourly employees.
An on-site seminar provides your group with the information you need to
determine if an alternative schedule or 24/7
operation will meet your business needs. And, if the answer
is yes, you will learn how to make this change successfully, either on
your own or with outside assistance.
The advantages of the on-site session are:
- A
large number of people in your organization can participate including
leadership/staff, functional managers, supervisors/team leaders, people
from support functions, and hourly employees / associates, and possibly
people from corporate or other facilities, as appropriate.
- We
can focus on your issues, needs and objectives, addressing the unique
requirements of your operation.
- You
can develop your plan for moving ahead. Frequently, a forward plan is
defined during the last part of the seminar.
A baseline of knowledge
about the change is provided to your team. Therefore, an on-site
seminar is frequently the best way to start the process of converting
to an alternative schedule or a 24/7
operation, and in fact, an on-site seminar is often the first step at
corporate or a plant. It is an opportunity to develop a broad understanding
of what is required for success.
Prior to the session, we should work together to adjust the agenda to
fit with your needs and objectives. We should expand the time for
certain topics so they can be emphasized and others are given less space,
depending on your requirements. In order to make the examples and concepts
fit, we suggest a plant tour before the seminar starts.
On-site seminars can be either one day or two days, depending on your
needs and the availability of your team. The two-day session has
several advantages:
- A
more in-depth look at your issues, concerns and objectives.
- Expanded
presentation time to cover the material more thoroughly and completely.
- More
time for questions and open discussion with participants during the
session.
- More
time to problem-solve and work on together on the benefits and drawbacks,
strategies and plans, therefore providing more consulting on the second
day and more definitive results for you.
- An
opportunity to get more people actively involved.
